As soon as we were put together as a group we immediately started working hard and collaborating ideas as to how we can make this project successful. Deni organised a meeting with our project mentor where we could discuss everything that needed and was going to happen whilst we were on the project.
When we arrived at the school, we were welcomed very warmly at reception by Suzy where she then proceeded to give us a tour of the school. For some of the group it was a familiar tour as both Ben’s had previously been to SSPP on a placement as part of our Year 2 placement. The whole group seemed positive about the school and our relationship with Suzy and the other members of the PE department appeared to be heading in the right direction.
Once we had our tour, and some surprise encounters with students, including a ‘Gangnam Style’ performance we continued to a room where we could discuss what is important and fill out the appropriate paperwork. Once in the meeting, group leader Sam started off the conversation and from there flowed very smoothly. We managed to get to a level where we understand what is needed from us as a a group and we are aware what the school can offer us to help, for example the equipment available and what the staff can do to help.
In general a successful meeting and the whole group is now looking forward to the new year where we can introduce ourselves to the school and let the students know what we are offering.
